With a groan, Chance opened his eyes to see Omniflux hovering over him. “How are you feeling?” the hyperflux asked him. “As well as can be expected. However, I can’t imagine being in better hands.” Omniflux let the compliment slide by and continued. “The only thing you need now is rest. You’ll be fit for duty again soon.” “That’s good news.” “Also, I was just informed we have visitors on board. Their ship is of USI origin, but it does not register within our data banks…just thought you would want to know." "Thank you, doctor." said Modaine. Omniflux moved on to another patient who had come into sickbay. After taking a few moments to gather his strength, he sat up. Dizziness washed over him, but he was able to control his weak body. He finally stood up and slowly walked out of sickbay. "Computer, what is the location of Kevcabana?" he asked. ""

It wasn't long before Chance reached his destination. Entering the room, he stopped suddenly as he noticed the dark-haired woman sitting at the far end of the table. Maybe it was his imagination, but she looked familiar. Kev was quick to jump to his feet at attention. "Captain Jenkins, this is Admiral Modaine," Kev introduced. Chance turned his attention to the captain and extended his hand for a handshake. The Captain, obviously a cautious woman, tried her best not to have her eyes grow wide in fear. "Nice to meet you, Captain." Chance said. Jenkins looked carefully Chance's face and took his hand and shook it. "Likewise, Admiral." Chance couldn’t figure out her reaction to him. Kev stepped forward. "Captain Jenkins and her crew are having a tough time accepting the fact that we are alive," he said. "Excuse me?" asked Chance. "I will brief you in a while, Sir. First, our soliton drive is currently offline. Chief Engineer Solran is working on it as we speak,” replied Kev. "Thank you." Chance looked back to their guests. "Perhaps we can better discuss our situation in a more comfortable environment, say, perhaps we all can get together for dinner?" Jenkins looked to her crewmates and then shook her head in agreement. "Good, it's settled then. I will make dinner arrangements. Is 1800 hours ok with everyone?" Kev asked. "That would be fine." Jenkins answered. Chance stepped up next to Kev. "Good, Kev, you bring your wife. Perhaps our department heads will have the opportunity to engage in work-related topics with our guests. Also, get Anton, Lt. JG Vok, and our new Navigations officer..." "Tray, sir." "Right. Have him join us as well, ok?" asked Chance Kev nodded, and then departed to escort Captain Jenkins and her entourage to the transporters. Captain Jenkins looked at Chance once again before leaving. “Even though there do seem to be some strange happenings, Admiral, know that I and my crew are still keeping a close eye on what the Hexan is doing.” “I understand,” he replied. They filed out, except for the one woman, who was avoiding his look. Finally she looked up and made eye contact with her. Chance was startled to realize it was Aurora, only she was older. “Aurora,” he said. She quickly looked away and left the room. Chance had now seen two completely different reactions from these people, but both were equally puzzling. Dinner would be interesting tonight, he was sure of it.
