The Orrin are humanoid with general terran features. They have fair complexions, with light brown, blond, or red (in all its variations) of hair, with red (Orange) variation being the most common and blond being the most rare. Eye color is commonly green, with hazel, blue and rarely brown.
## Introduction
Orrin society is one of the more complicated and unusual seen the galaxy. Their society is based on a Monarchy and hierarchical nobility class systems which define power, wealth, and freedoms. Power and wealth are very similar to a feudal system, such as seen in Earths medieval ages. Freedoms are tightly integrated with this as a complex system that can be seen on many levels from a personal, family, regional as well in political interests. Outside of the culture of the Orrin, this is seen as a complex system of slavery.
## The Rin Kingdom
At the head of the Orrin people are its royalty ruling class, known as the Rin, who serves as both spiritual (Church of Rin) and political monarch, whose authority is absolute. The monarch family is an inherited role, which can be married into, and follows similar traditional ascension rules and guidlines. In case of the Rin, the eldest living heir ascends. This prevents ascension of the throne by marriage or marriage relation. The ruling Rin family must also produce multiple heirs within 10 years of ascension, else the ascension is abdictated and moved to the next living sibling. In order to help maintain this system, polygamy, proxy births, and surrogacy are permitted. In the most recent several hundred years, it has been common practice for surrogacy births to take place as it opens up a large number of options while still maintaining a pure bloodline. Strong family bonds, combined with education ^[or perhaps indoctrination from the outside] help prevent uprising from within the family to claim the throne.
### The Rin
The Rinnal (King) and Rinnae (Queen) are the head of the Rin, with their children considered Sovereign. While both are considered to rule together, absolute authority is given to the heir of the previous Rin, regardless of gender. Sovereign of adult age who are not intended to ascend to the throne typically join among the other nobility ranks, keeping the highest nobility positions still connected to the family.
### The Sovereign
Children and extended family of the Rin are considered known as sovereign, and are considered royalty. The Rin royal family is quite large and extensive and diverse so inner family marriage is common, with the Sovereign being the larger practitioners of bringing other families into the fold.
## Triumvirate
The Triumvirate is generally seen as the acting power of the Rin, who are unofficially seen as the true power of the Orrin. The Triumvirate is lead by three prefects, who govern the domains of Rin. There are always and only an odd number of domains to help enforce a consensus among the prefects. The most famous of Prefects is Prefect Sprague, who has more recently been the target of Torrent ^[ torrent is considered an Orrin terrorist group who openly deny the orrin society system and desire change from its feudalistic ways and to abolish its debt and slavery system.] and clashes with USI. The Prefects are second only to the Rinnal/Rinnae, outranking sovereigns in authority ^[although by tradition Sovereigns are given a large amount of lattitude in all matters and its seen as bad form and politics to act against them. In return, most sovereigns keep out of Prefect affairs unless its a matter of great importance to them.]. The Prefects are in addition to the Rin as spiritual leaders, and are more commonly seen for spiritual matters and religion.
## Dols (Dominions of Light)
The Dols are various governmental positions within a prefects domain. They do not hold a position within the Church of Rin, and do not represent or conduct business on behalf of the church. The divisions of a domain are called Isle's. Higher ranked nobility brings with it larger Isle's, more wealth, power, and freedoms for themselves and their direct children. Isles are often contested amongst the peers in order to increase status, wealth and power.
### List of Dol Nobilities (in order)
* Erenn
* Wren
* Vates
* Ardri/Vicars ^[The Ardri, while considered a Dol nobility, are the only nobility class who usually do not govern over an isle. They are a religious class who can hold influence equal to that of the Erenn, and the only of the Dols Nobility who ascend to Prefect.]
* Dukes ^[Dukes are the only Gild caste who are considered nobility.]
Domain peers are referred to Rank Lastname of Isle Islename. For example, "Erenn Gregor of Isle Retorer", and more succinctly referred to as 'lord'.
## Ardri
The Ardri are a religious caste, who hold power and influence equal to that of a Dol. In many ways, they are considered to have more so, as the Prefects are all ascended from this class. They follow the only religion practiced, Rin. Each of the Ardri castes serve in other nobilities, castes, and social ranks, as representatives to ensure the teachings and adherance to the teachings of Rin.
### List of Ardri Castes and their assignment
* Prefect - Triumvirate
* Vicars - Dols, also considered a nobility
* Curate - Gilds
* Ru'iri - Freeborn
* Druids - Helots
## Gild
The Gild is the military might and force behind the Orrin. The ranks among the Gild, like the dols, represent power and strength, however not influence. Gilds are required to serve respective isles from the dols. Large dols require higher ranked Gilds, and its appropriate strength military force which comes with it. Gilds are tasked with all things to protect their isles from all threats.
### Gild ranks and their Isle's
* Dukes - Prefects and Erenn
* Visigilds - Wren and Ardri
* Gilden - Vates and Freeborn
## Freeborn
The freeborn are not nobility and have little social status other than being free individuals. The freeborn make up the general populace of the Orrin. While the freeborn do not have official titles which officially put them into a nobility order, they do have two name modifications which more or less put them into a lower or middle class category. If a Freeborn were to be nobilized through any means, this name modification is dropped entirely, although in practice hereditary Nobles often still refer to the nobilized with their freeborn prefix.
The middle class of freeborn place a Mac before the surname as in MacIntire or MacBrian.
The lower class freeborn's name place an O' before the surname as in O'Brian, or O'Mallory.
### Freeborn castes
* Magnates - a governing position under a dol.
* Freeborn - A normal orrin citizen who has never personally been indebted
* Harat - A Freeborn whos debt has been paid
* Harat'moor - A freeborn whos family has paid a debt, but the debt was not incured by the individual. Being harat'moor often has social ramifications due to the association of a family member who was in debt but now freed. This can go either way and varies from isle to isle, prefect to prefect, magnate to magnate.
## Helots of Rin
Helots are those indebted one way or another to either a Dol, an Ardri, or the Gild. The Freeborn do not have helots. As the Rin own everything within the kingdom, debts can be incured by anyone to the Rin, including nobility. In some cases, nobility to become helot, lose their nobility as part of the payment to resolve the debt. Afterwards, they come Harat/harat'moor just like everyone else. While there are no rankings among helots, there are different terms which apply.
* Helistirs - Helistirs are not Helots necessarily but are individuals who are in charge of creating Helots and acclimating them to be in service of their debt holders.
* Helot - A generic term for anyone indebted to anyone who has put into service to repay a debt. Most factions and other governments recognize these as being a slave.
* Helot'moor - A generic term for a family, whos members are now a helot by the debt of the family leader.
* Helot'kin - A helot in direct service of the Rin.
* Helogild - A helot in direct service of the Gild. Law requires that any debt may be paid out through service in the Gild, who essentially purchases the debt at a great discount. Its socially acceptable to allow debts to be paid this way, and is noted as such those who do so, giving them social status in return.
* Helot'dri - A helot in the direct service of the Ardri. Law requires that any debt may be paid out through service in the Ardri, who purchases the debt at a great discount. Its socially acceptable to allow debts to be paid this way, and is noted as such those who do so, giving them social status in return.
* Harat'kin - A unique version of the Helogild, in which an individual can pay off their debt (immediately) by going into lifelong service to the Rin as pseudo helot to the Dukes gild which provide direct protection and service to the Rin. This is seen as socially favorable, however a difficult path to follow. The Harat'kin are elite warriors who are pledged to the Rin only.
# History
An unknown number of centuries ago there were two distinct species of humanoids who lived on Orri, the Orrin home planet : The Rinaan and the Denaan.
## The Rinaan
The Rinaan are said to have been created from a holy state, divinely created by the Universe for its purpose and as gods. The Rinaan wasn't just a race, but a immortal family. At the head of this family was ** Rin Seda** and **Rin Vesu**.
## The Denaan
The Denaan were a naturalized people of Orri, created by nature and the dirt of the planet. They belonged to the planet, and it was said that they too were immortal through the planets wreath of life, reincarnating after death.
## Emergence of the Orrin
At one point the Rinaan and the Denaan left the planet leaving behind the Orrin. There is much debate as to the ancestry of the Orrin, with some groups claiming they were the children of the Rinaan, and others the Denaan. A small sect however has discovered evidence that the Orrin are actually the descendants of both.
# Children of Rin
The largest accepted theology is that the Orrin are descendants of the Rinaan, and thus they were named *Or* - (from) * rin* (Rinaan). They are called Children of Rin, with the leadership, while being complicated in the Orrins social hierarchal, are noted as Followers of Rin. At the head of the Kingdom of Rin, is the Rinnal or the Rinnae depending on gender. The religious term *Church* and the Orrin state term *Kingdom* are actually synonymous within Orrin culture. The theology and worship of the Denaan is accepted as a lesser but still integral part of the historical aspects.
## Polytheism of Rin
At its core, the Religion of ***Rin*** centers around the following and worship of a diety in the Rin family, or rarely the naturalistic Denaan who are referred to as Dena. The majority of the population however are followers of Rin as its dieties are core to their societal structure. While there are histories and accounts of thousands of dieties, only the offspring of Rin are directly followed, although fellowship to the lesser dieties are not prohibited.
### Dieties of Rin
* Rin Seda - The Father Guardian of the Offspring
* Rin Vesu - The Mother Health of the Offspring
These are the two who head the diety family of Rin. There is not much known about them, and much of the society and following are through their offspring, the *Rinin*, three sets of triplet children. Each of triplets created their own sects, which in turn are followed in the Orrin society known as Paths, each with their own Nobility and rankings. The Sects of Rin offspring created the First Triumvirate ruling body for the planet.
The sect of Rin itself is followed exclusively by the Rin royalty and only by the Rin royalty. It is through the Dieties of Rin that the Rin Royalty are able to lead, guide and govern the people of Orrin. It is said that the royal family are direct descendants of the Rin Dieties and that the requirement to bring in outside for marriage have they lost their immortality.
#### Rinin Gild
The Rinnin Gild were in short warmongers and soldiers. Eager to solve problems through combat and physical confrontations they sought glory through strife and death associated with it. Maev, the Warrior Queen was the Alpha of the three children, cunning and brutal she lead her armies to eradicate all who opposed Rin rule and even sought for the purity through attempted Genocide of the Denann. The Gild are passionate siblings.
* Rigna - Male, seen with an Axe and Horse and a god of War.
* Maev - Female, A warrior queen associated with death, blood and bones.
* Gingnu (Ginnew) - Female, seen with a Dragon and Shield and embodies Conflict and battle.
#### Rinin Ardri
In contrast to their Gild siblings, the Ardri were kind and compassionate. While Bae'fin and Anume'd were seen opposite of the Gild, Luchta held a crush and romantic relationship with Gingnu which often put the siblings at odds with each other, finding it difficult to standup to them while fullfilling their core beliefs. The Ardri focused on bringing people together through altruistic works, and freely giving their wealth or talents for the better of Rin and Orrinkind.
* Bae'fin - Male, seen with Water and associated with birth and life
* Anume'd - Male, Associated with Flowers and Healing
* Luchta - Female. Known as the God of Labor, and is seen with beasts of burden and tools.
#### Rinnin Erenn
The Erenn sect was unlike the others in that it comprised of many different talents and ideals instead of a core set that was similar to the siblings. While this enabled the Erenn to natural leadership abilities with open mindedness, they did so often without emotion and could be manipulated by the other sects. It is notable that Bah'lorr, is attributed to the introduction and implementation of the Debt and Helot system that is still in use by the Orrin today.
* Caola - Male, A poet. Seen with a Harp and a song bird.
* Ecne - Female. Seen with a scroll and scales, known for wisdom and Intelligence.
* Bah'lorr - Male. Attributed to wealth, possession and trade. Marked with an all seeing Eye.
