Akerians resemble a humanoid terran Lynx. Three distinct subspecies were created by the expletuns, Northern, Desert, and Forest. They have a short tail, tufts of black hairs on the tips of their ears. Typical feline teeth with enlarged canines. ## Geographical Akerians * Northern Northern Akerians have large paws and thick coats of fur. Their paws include dexterous digits for tool manipulation, but are considerably shorter than their counterparts. With thick coats for protection, they are well armored in hand to hand combat. Average tails. Silver eyes. * Desert Short haired, average hands, heat dispersion, Shot tails. Sandy colored with spots down back, gold eyes. Male beard/whiskers are also shorter. Desert Akerians make up most of the Akerian species. * Forest Long fingers, long tail, long tailed. Brown on top, white on bottom. Strips and spots. Longer fingers for climbing. Green eyes. Also short haired. Forest Akerians are largely extinct. ## Sex * Male Facial hair / beards /whiskers that start on the sides, and with age grow down to the chin. Larger than females (in bulk), but shorter, up to twice their size. * Female No whiskers, slender, but also longer in length. Both sexes tend to 'hunch' as they walk, and its common for them to pad around on all fours when they need to move more quickly. In combat, they will always be on fours unless utilizing a tool or weapon. Clawed gauntlets are favored weapons which allow them to go on all fours.
## Million Year War Like all of the Expletun Chosen, the Akerians were drawn into the war along with their cousins, the Nephatsu and the Metorians to resist their tyrannical rule. Shortly after the start of the expletuns civil war, they had begun to devote a large amount of resources and soldiers to the cause. ## Exodus from Zh'seketh It wasn't long into the war that the Akerian current homeworld Zh'zeketh was threatened. Like their chosen cousins, the Akerians left for a new home. Throughout the next thousands of years, the Akerians would find a home and settle, only to be threatened by the Hive and needing to move again. Sometimes they would temporarily share a planet while they scouted for new suitable planets. Eventually they found and settled on Aker, where they remain today. Because of this migratory behavior, their pyramids are found all over the galaxy. ## Kingdom and Religion Shortly after settling on Aker, a particular leader rose to the ranks that had characteristics of a long past leader. It was here and then that a religion was established on the belief that Zh'Re had been resurrected, and was destined to lead the people as their Zh'An. Their exposure to other cultures and their religions led to a ideas that forms the basis of Akerian Religion known as Zh'Akeran. Since that time, Zh'hara pack has lead the Akerians. ## Aker Aker provided a certain safety to the hive, as the Order and the Preservers (through USI) kept the Darkarian growth stunted and even limited to certain areas. While the Kingdom would still donate and recruit many to both USI (it was not known at the time they were an Expletun faction) and the Order, they refused to get involved in their politics or leadership providing only voluntary service. ## Joining Forces with USI In the new era that followed the Lore Project incident, the hives activity had become more aggressive. While USI, now lead by a chosen for the first time, was trying to meet this challenge, the Order was largely absent. The Kingdom broke policy for the first time and was willing to go all in with USI in combating the Hive.
Of all the expletun chosen, the Akerians were the only to independently create a religion, one that is universally taught and believed among most of the Akerians. The practice of this religion is centered around their Zh'An, the king whom they believe is the reincarnation of of Zh'Re, the first king who was throned at the creation of the Kingdom over 900,000 years ago. This is called Zh'Akeran. [[toc]] # Zh'Akeran ## Dieties * Aker - Giver of Life * Amemait The Devourer - A god of punishing the misdeeds of all. * Zh'eket The Goddess - ## Giver/Taker Aker While the Expletuns may have created their genetic structure, they could not have given them a soul. Exposure to other cultures throughout the galaxies who have the idea of a soul have lead the Akerians to seeing that a person is more than their genetic make up, and that a soul was needed to give actual life. Their Diety Aker was felt to give this to all sentient beings, not just the Akerians. They recognize also that Aker may be referred to by multiple names, and that they are not unique nor a chosen species by Aker. His role is merely to give life, and take it away. There is a finite number of souls in the universe, and there is a great circle and process, which gave way to the belief of reincarnation. Aker has no physical body and selflessly manages the process of life and death. Aker is not represented by any image, as he has had no body to take of any form. Because of this, he is mute and cannot speak. ## Amemait the Devourer Amemait the Devourer is the punisher of misdeeds. Obedience to the laws and rules of the Zh'An is heavily taught, and disobedience is punished by the Amemait. With continual disobedience, it is thought that Amemait would eventually petition for Aker to take the life of the miscreant, and prevent his reincarnation for 10,000 years. Particularly horrible individuals are thought to be banished to the Abyss, never to be reincarnated. He is represented as a large Desert Akerian with long swords. Amemait is also blind. ## Zh'eket the Goddess Zh'eket the Goddess of Grace. It is believed that she fights with Amemait to prevent his justice from inflicting undue pain upon the innocent, as Amemait cannot see the full truth. Zh'eket also grants wisdom to the Zh'An and specifically chooses who Aker reincarnates, and where. Akerian often appeal to her for help, although she is deaf. Zh'eket is represented by a Forest Akerian with a shield.
